A Design Research project that started and sustained through inquiries about the Ahmedabad Old City Pol areas. With the gradual dilapidation of the Pols in the Old City, how might we recognize the patterns leading to this and implement strategies to preserve the tangible and intangible heritage in the pols ?
The following document captures the Design research journey and the final strategy to educate and inspire the young generation of the old city to take pride in their heritage, with the hope that collective pride for the Pols will lead to a hopeful tomorrow for this historic site, and prevent it from turning into a museum of the past, a ghost city or a concrete jungle.
